Llanelli Athletic Club Athletes and their families enjoyed a fun end of summer season evening at Pemberton Track. Seniors and Juniors came together to take part in running, jumping and throwing events. The Juniors hotly contested the 75m and 100m sprint events and in the longer distances of 400m and 800m there were a complete mixture of ages and abilities competing, including over 60 year olds still enjoying themselves over the 2 laps.In the shot putt, coach Leighton Ryan gave a short but essential master class for those who had never putt the shot before and Juniors like Hollie Evans also showed how to do it. The long jump which is always popular with the Juniors was very competitive, and seniors Danni Evans and Angela Jones also showed how it’s done, jumping really well. Cakes teas and drinks were of course a highlight, and the evening rounded off with highly competitive 4 by 100m relays, teams consisting of 2 adults and 2 juniors. Mums and Dads took part too and were wonderfully competitive. Everyone who took part was a winner, and the Club are hoping to hold a series of similar “ Have a go evenings” next year. Winter training restarts at Pemberton Track on 22nd September 5.30pm.  Photo of Athletes and Coaches who competed in the “Have a go evening”
