Come along and try us out – we welcome you to attend up-to four training sessions with us before we request you join the club membership.
We welcome all abilities and recommend junior new comers come to our Tuesday 5.30 sessions at Pemberton Track and senior new comers join in the Monday 6pm sessions which are very social and a good way to have a go.
Why Join a Club? – Membership Benefits
Please note that your membership includes:
- Members Registration Fee with Welsh Athletics.
- Opportunities to meet and train with the company of others
- Free expert coaching every week from our UKA & WA qualified coaching team. When session are based at the track, track fees apply see below .
- Additional coaching When coach availability allows, extra sessions will be provide for athletes, particularly leading up to competitions, e.g., weekend cross country sessions, which are free and available to members only
- Access to Affiliated Competitions Our members compete in races and leagues which are only open to UK athletics club members, like the Regional and National Road Relays, Regional and National Cross Country Championships, YDL (Youth Development League – FREE to members), Senior Masters Championships. There is a very small fee to enter each competition.
- Cross Country Leagues. The club is registered for athletes to participate into the John Collins Gwent Cross Country League & the West Glamorgan Cross Country League. There is a very small fee for entry into each race.
- Help from Team Managers and Senior’s Captains who organise team entries into track, road and cross country competitions and help athletes at these events.
- Help from Safeguarding & Welfare Officers, always trying to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Club Championships Every year, we hold a Club Championship series where members earn points for taking part in local races over the course of the year. At the end of the year, the members with the most points will be honoured in a special club awards ceremony.
- Access to our email list, WhatsApp and Facebook group Our website, WhatsApp and Facebook group are the best way to find out about training runs, races and social events, like our annual awards ceremony.
- Race Discounts Llanelli Athletics is affiliated with Welsh Athletics for road running events, so you won’t need to pay the additional charge for ‘unattached’ runners each time you race. Just make sure you have your WA number handy when entering your race to qualify for the discount.
- Club insurance which covers you for certain issues.

Track fees
In addition to the annual membership fee, there are additional track fees of £3.10 per session, payable on Tuesday and Thursday. If a member attends both weekly sessions the fee payable will be £5.20 . Payment must be paid by card/contactless before attending a session.
