On a wonderful sunny morning, Helen and Jess Williams took part in the scenic Ilminster 10k. It takes in roads, fields and footpaths and winds its way through Dillington country estate before finishing on the town’s playing fields. Over 300 runners took part.
Jess ran 49.51 with a bad knee and came in 6th woman. If she could resolve the knee and put some training in her times would be much better.
Helen ran 58.21 with a horrendous Achilles, which is not recommended, but the event is so nice she couldn’t resist having a go, and hobbled round 3 minutes slower than last year, unfortunately, but it was to be expected.
However, the goody bag was worth all the suffering (and not expensive to enter either). All Jess wanted was the stress potato!
