On a warm sunny Saturday, Llanelli Athletics Club under 15 boys competed in the second of the John Collins Gwent League Cross Country Races at Llandaff Fields Cardiff. The fast large lap 3.2km course included a log jump and plenty of twists and turns. Dylan Hopkins ran a very strong race and led the boys’ team home, followed by Ellis Davies who was also in fine form together with Maksymilian Jania and Oliver Phillips.
In the under 11’s Carwyn Llewellyn Jones and Liliana Evans ran brilliantly competing over a fast 1.25 km grass course.
Later in the day the seniors competed in the Senior Women & Masters 6.4 km consisting of 2 large laps and the Senior Men ran 9.6 km, a 3 large lap event. Everyone found it a testing course but extremely enjoyable with great support from lots of spectators around the course. The next race in the series is at Blaise Castle, Bristol on December 6th.
